HOULTON, Maine — A man was arrested Tuesday following an alleged stabbing at a Houlton home.
Jerad Sturtevant, 20, of Houlton was charged with elevated aggravated assault, a Class A felony, officials said.
Officers were called to a disturbance at 22 Smyrna St., in Houlton around 9:54 a.m., according to Houlton Police Chief Tim DeLuca. Upon entering the residence, officers discovered a man who had been stabbed several times.
The man, who was not identified, was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital.
Sturtevant was located at the residence and taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton where bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 surety. He was still at the jail as of Thursday evening.
The stabbing is under investigation
