Tournament games in Bangor, Augusta and Portland are postponed due to an expected snowstorm, the Maine Principals’ Association announced Thursday.
The Class C North games at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor are the most affected, as the boys and girls were scheduled to play semifinal games on Friday and their regional finals on Saturday. Those games will now be played Saturday and Monday, respectively.
The Class D North finals will be held at the same time as originally scheduled, and the Class B North finals will be held earlier to accommodate the C North semifinal matchups in the evening.
The Class A North regional championship games for boys and girls that were originally scheduled for Friday evening at the Augusta Civic Center are moved to Saturday. Those games include No. 3 Lawrence girls against No. 1 Skowhegan, which will now be played at 7 p.m. Saturday, and No. 2 Brewer boys against top seed Nokomis, which will be played at 8:45 p.m.
Also in Augusta, the Class C South regional finals will be played Saturday at 10 a.m. for girls and 11:45 a.m. for boys. The Class D South regional finals will take place at 1:30 p.m. for the girls and 3:15 p.m. for the boys.
In Portland, the Class A and Class B South regional finals are postponed from Friday to Saturday and will be relocated from the Cross Insurance Arena to the Portland Expo. The Class B South finals for girls and boys will be played at noon and 2 p.m., respectively, and the Class A South finals will be played at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Saturday evening’s AA North and AA South semifinals for boys and girls at the Cross Insurance Arena remain unaffected.
