It’s not over until it’s over.

The No. 2 Oxford Hills boys basketball team had a 1-point advantage over No. 1 Edward Little with less than a minute left in regulation, but a free throw by the Red Eddies tied the score at 38 and sent the AA North regional championship game into overtime.

With 27.8 seconds left in the extra period, Edward Little led 47-42. Vikings fans clad in green and yellow started heading toward the doors.

But thanks to a series of foul shots — four made by Oxford Hills junior Cole Pulkinnen, and two missed by Edward Little’s John Shea — the score was 47-46 with 7.5 seconds left on the clock.

Oxford Hills got possession of the ball off Shea’s second missed foul, and sophomore Teigen Pelletier managed a shot with less than a second left on the clock to secure the victory.

Oxford Hills won 48-47 and will advance to the Class AA boys state championship game.
