In a highly anticipated matchup, the top-seeded Nokomis boys basketball team defeated Brewer 68-58 to win the Class A North regional championship, the team’s first regional title.


Freshman Cooper Flagg finished with 27 points — including four slam dunks and an 11-of-13 effort from the free-throw line — to go with 11 rebounds, five steals, five assists and three blocked shots, and he was named winner of the Al Halliday Award as the tournament’s outstanding player-sportsman.

Junior forward Madden White added 15 points for Nokomis and Ace Flagg had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
