SOUTH PORTLAND — Southern Maine Community is hosting an in-person open house on April 9 where students and their families can learn about academic programs, meet faculty and staff, and tour the college’s beautiful ocean-side South Portland campus.

The event provides prospective students and those who have already been accepted an opportunity to learn more about the college and its offerings. Hundreds of students and parents are expected.

“We are excited that we are able to offer people an in-person Open House again for the first time since 2019,” said Amy Lee, assistant dean of enrollment. “There is nothing like being on campus and meeting faculty and staff face-to-face to appreciate the college experience and make connections.”

Interested persons can pre-register and reserve a space online on SMCC’s open house webpage at https://startsmart.smccme.edu/open-house-spring-2022/. The open house runs from 9 a.m.to noon in the HUB Athletic Center on the South Portland campus.

Visitors will learn about academic programs, meet with faculty and staff, hear from the SMCC admissions team, learn how to apply, and tour the campus and residence halls.

SMCC is Maine’s largest and oldest community college. Founded in 1946, SMCC offers courses at its South Portland, Brunswick and online campuses and at community satellite locations.
