Police did not release the identities of a man and woman found dead Thursday morning in a Bangor house in its statement at nearly 6 p.m.

Bangor police had blocked off G Street in Birch Hill Estates at approximately 10:30 a.m. after shots were fired during a domestic incident, according to the Bangor Police Department.

Negotiators tried to make contact with the people inside the house, but around 11:30 a.m., the police placed robots inside, followed shortly by members of the special response team, according to Bangor police spokesperson Jason McAmbley.

Police did not release any other details about the incident.

McAmbley said there is no threat to the public
