A pedestrian died on Friday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Route 69.

The pedestrian was struck on a stretch of the roadway in Newburgh at around 12:15 p.m., according to Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Route 69 will remain closed while officials conduct an investigation.

No further information was available on Friday afternoon.
