Maine Catholics are getting a pass to eat meat this Friday.
The Diocese of Portland said that, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Bishop Robert Deeley is authorizing those who choose to eat meat on Friday to instead abstain from meat on another day this week.
Normally, Catholics do not eat meat on Fridays during Lent.
