The death at a Portland homeless encampment isn’t considered suspicious.

The man was found unresponsive about 6:28 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Franklin Street and Marginal Way, according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.

Nadeau said the death doesn’t appear to be suspicious, but the Maine medical examiner’s office will determine an exact cause of death.

No additional information was immediately available.
