There is no small irony in the federal government spending $1.13 billion to plant trees in an effort to mitigate extreme heat (as recently reported in the Bangor Daily News) while simultaneously subsidizing “green energy” projects such as wind and solar farms that could result in the destruction of thousands of acres of forest and wildlife habitat.

It would appear the only thing “green” here is the money flowing out of the taxpayer’s pockets.
