As a Bangor resident and parent actively involved in the Bangor School District, I happily and wholeheartedly endorse Katie Brydon for School Committee. Brydon was one of my first new-parent connections. I’ve witnessed her enthusiastic dedication and vouch for her commitment to creating an inclusive, enriching environment for our children.

I first met Brydon as Abraham Lincoln’s Parent Teacher Organization president. Being on PTO was new to me, but Brydon inspired myself and others to get involved and made everyone feel welcome. She planned family-friendly events, combining education with a sense of community. She champions our teachers, celebrating their hard work and dedication throughout the year. She is a thoughtful delegator, expert communicator, and makes me feel like no challenge is insurmountable. She listens with empathy and welcomes new ideas. Whenever I have a discussion with Brydon, she considers and understands my point of view and is always flexible and accommodating.

Brydon’s dedication to the organization Best Buddies demonstrates her passion for inclusivity and highlights her leadership ability. She introduced inclusive social and leadership opportunities for people with disabilities in Bangor that demonstrates what it means to belong. She breaks down barriers for people with disabilities and fosters an environment where everyone is an equal and valued contributor.

Our schools and children need forward-thinking leaders with integrity who we can trust. Brydon is the ideal choice for the Bangor School Committee. I am confident she will continue to make our educational system in Bangor an inclusive and inspiring place to learn.
