Police issued court summons for several juveniles after locating the vehicle involved in a carjacking Thursday.

On November 9, a 75-year-old man was parked on Auburn Street while his wife ran errands nearby when a man got into the passenger seat of his Toyota Highlander and pointed a gun at him, according to Portland police spokesperson Brad Nadeau. The driver got out of the vehicle and the suspect drove away. Police initially described the suspect as a Black male in his 20s.

Police located the stolen Toyota Highlander at about 6 p.m. Friday at the Auburn Shopping Plaza. Police took seven juveniles into custody and have issued summons against several of them for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Nadeau said. More charges are expected to come stemming from the case.
