Several flights were diverted from Bangor International Airport on Saturday afternoon after a person called and made threats against the airport, according to the Bangor Police Department.

The airport buildings, runways, and surrounding properties were searched and found to be safe, Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department, said in a statement. The diverted flights included one commercial flight.

The Bangor Police Department and other agencies are investigating the source of the threats, McAmbley said.
