Police are looking for two people accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from multiple businesses since October.
Pardelian Muntean, 21, and Liana Moldovan, 34, have allegedly bought gift cards from multiple stores across Maine and other states and used them to steal money, Bangor police said.
The two suspects would also ask for large bills to be broken into smaller denominations. They would then use sleight-of-hand techniques when passing the cash to steal several hundred dollars at each location, police said.
Police know about eight such thefts in the Bangor area in the last two months.
