Portland police arrested a man on Wednesday for robbing a bank branch Skowhegan Savings Bank in Portland.
Police went to the bank at 287 Marginal Way at 9:22 a.m. for a report of a robbery and were told the suspect fled down Diamond Street and was later spotted entering the Bayside Anchor Apartment Complex.
There police arrested Khalid Gurhan, 29, and charged him with robbery and violating conditions of release. He was also charged with criminal mischief after throwing an object through the window of a residence less than an hour before the robbery, according to Portland police.
Police said they recovered money from Gurhan but did not say how much.
