I am writing to encourage the voters of Maine to contact their state representative and senator in Augusta asking them to vote in favor of LD 780. This resolution, if passed, would allow Maine voters to decide if they want to enshrine the right to reproductive autonomy in the Maine Constitution.

Maine voters should be allowed to decide if they want these private medical decisions protected in our Constitution. Because people’s health and lives are at stake, we should not have to worry after every election if we will have access to all of our medical options.

Give the voters the opportunity to have their say. Maine voters, not elected officials, should make these important decisions. It’s what people on both sides of this issue are calling for … listening and following the voice of the majority.

For this resolution to pass, two thirds of both bodies of the Legislature must vote yes. If you want to have your say, please encourage your state representative and senator to vote yes on LD 780 so Maine voters can decide.
