A 50-year-old man was killed Saturday morning after the vehicle he was driving crashed into some trees near 741 Fuller Rd. in Carmel.
The vehicle was traveling on Fuller Road between the intersections with Irish Road and Homestead Lane when it veered off the road and into several trees, according to the Penobscot Sheriff’s Office. The crash was reported just after 10 a.m.
The man, who was the only person in the vehicle, was dead by the time police arrived at the crash site. He has not yet been identified.
An ongoing investigation found that speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. More details are expected to be released later.
