A Maine truck driver has been accused of driving under the influence after police say he lost control of his tractor-trailer and got stuck in the median on I-95 in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire State Police say they responded to a report of a tractor-trailer stuck in a muddy area of the center median on I-95 in North Hampton around 1:40 a.m. on Friday.

According to police, the truck driver, 46-year-old Nathaniel Ray of Lisbon Falls, Maine, lost control of his tractor-trailer and went off the road into the median. Police say Ray continued to drive in the median for approximately 500 feet before the tractor-trailer got stuck in deep mud.

Troopers say Ray showed signs of impairment and he was arrested. He was charged with driving under the influence, felony reckless conduct, aggravated driving under the influence, and criminal mischief.

Ray was processed at the Hampton Police Department and later released on personal recognizance.

Police say two southbound travel lanes on I-95 were closed for approximately two and a half hours while crews removed the tractor-trailer.
