The chief executive officer of Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln will be stepping down from the role later this year.

Crystal Landry will step away from the role within the next three to six months in order to spend more time with her family, she said in a statement Wednesday.

Landry has worked at the hospital for nine years in total, serving as CEO for five of those years.

“Now, as I prepare to focus on my family, who have been incredibly supportive throughout my tenure, I am confident that PVH is well-positioned for a bright future under new leadership,” she said.

Landry served as CEO when the Lincoln hospital negotiated a deal to exit Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2020. The hospital sought bankruptcy protection in 2018 after amassing around $10 million in debts to federal and state agencies and lenders.

Landry plans to assist the transition as the hospital’s board of directors searches for a new CEO.
