Tens of thousands of people are expected to visit Maine communities in the upcoming solar eclipse‘s path of totality, where the sky will plunge into darkness for up to 3½ minutes Monday afternoon. The path of totality sweeps across the state from western to northern Maine, cutting through Oxford, Franklin, Somerset, Piscataquis, Penobscot and Aroostook counties.
