A woman and a man are dead after what police are calling a murder-suicide in Minot on Thursday.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office received a request for a welfare check at 425 Millett Road on Thursday morning. At the home shortly after 6 a.m. deputies found the bodies of two people, Emali Sallee, 19, of Lewiston, and Tyson Peters, 20, of Minot, state police said in a news release.

Both were brought to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for autopsies. The medical examiner ruled that Sallee’s death was a homicide and Peters died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The two were in a relationship at the time, according to police.

Police did not release any additional details.
