A 51-year-old Lamoine man is dead after a head-on crash in Steuben Thursday afternoon.

Maine State Police received the report of the fatal crash at about 12:47 p.m.

Based on an initial investigation, police said Nicholas Libby of Addison was driving east on Route 1 when his red 2014 Nissan Rogue crossed the center line and hit a silver 2003 Subaru Forester driven by David Worcester, 51, of Lamoine.

Worcester was pronounced dead at the scene. Libby was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center hospital in Bangor to be treated for serious injuries.
