The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office was investigating an area on Route 2 in Greenbush Friday evening, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post just before 6:30 p.m.

At about 5:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies and a special response team executed a search and arrest warrant at an unspecified address on Route 2.

Police said there is a large sheriff’s office presence in the area but no public safety risk.

“This incident and investigation is currently active and no further details can be shared at this time,” the post said. “This message serves as a notice only, law enforcement are in the area and any risk to the public has been quickly addressed.”
