Former President Donald J. Trump is a profile in courage. He is willing to go to jail in defense of our First Amendment, free speech rights under our Constitution. Most all of us know and exercise our free speech rights every day. We, like President Trump, know the First Amendment does not give us the right to threaten harm or yell “fire” in a crowded theater, but it does give us the right to criticize the political views, actions and ideology of others.
New York Judge Juan Merchan should represent an independent judiciary, but apparently he does not. I think he is a political hack and is using his gag order against President Trump to interfere with the November presidential election.
Jail time will make President Trump even more unbeatable.
