The No. 1 Scarborough Red Storm dominated the Class A baseball state championship game at Augusta’s Morton Field on Saturday, shutting out No. 2 Messalonskee of Oakland 7-0.

Senior Zak Sanders pitched a complete game for Scarborough (19-1), scattering 4 hits and striking out 4 while issuing one walk.

The North champion Eagles (16-4) had been averaging more than 7 runs per game.

Sanders helped himself in the batters’ box, going 3-for-3 with three runs and 2 RBI. The Red Storm outhit the Eagles 7-4.
