Three have been arrested after an ATM was stolen from a Wayne ice cream shop.

Joshua Souther, 47, and Jason Reckards, 44, both of Livermore Falls, have been charged with theft, while Brittany Boivin, 37, of Jay was charged with obstructing government administration and violating conditions of release, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Souther and Reckards allegedly forced their way into Tubby’s Own Ice Cream on Main Street, where police say they made off with an ATM containing a “significant amount of cash” early Thursday morning, Moss said Friday.

Guests at an Airbnb alerted police to the theft, according to the Kennebec Journal.

Later in the day, police tracked Souther and Reckards to a home in Livermore Falls, where officers found cash from the ATM. The ATM was abandoned in a vacant lot nearby, Moss said.

No additional information was immediately available.
