A person riding a lawnmower was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a collision with a pickup truck in Thomaston, according to the PenBay Pilot.
The driver of the lawnmower was reportedly attempting to cross Route 1 at around 12:30 p.m. when the collision happened, according to the newspaper. The mower operator was transported to the hospital with serious leg injuries. The pickup truck driver was uninjured.
Traffic on Route 1 in the area was diverted while officials waited for a crash reconstructionist to arrive, according to the PenBay Pilot.
