As a member of Faith Linking in Action’s board I would like to commend the Bangor City Council for its approval of the $322,000 grant from the Maine Department of Transportation that will allow the Community Connector to offer bus driver training courses. The trainees will be paid for their time and, if successful, the training could result in a permanent position with the city of Bangor.

According to Laurie Linscott, superintendent of the Community Connector, the availability of more licensed bus drivers would allow for the return of the much needed Saturday bus service.  This is a good investment for the Bangor area.
