Finally two unjust laws are close to being repealed. The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate voted to end the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Provision Offset. Since 1983, these two laws have been implemented by a few states, not all fifty states. They reduced Social Security benefits.

Firemen, police officers, teachers and others had their full benefits reduced by the Windfall Elimination Provision because they had jobs over their lifetimes outside of public service. The Government Provision Offset caused many women especially to not receive their spouses’ Social Security. Now I think President Joe Biden has to sign the bill into law. Once this happens, many people from Maine and other states, for the first time will receive their full Social Security benefits.
