A 23-year-old woman was shot in Portland on Monday afternoon.
Police found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound on Sanborn Street about 4:42 p.m., according to Brad Nadeau, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department.
She is being treated at Maine Medical Center, where she is in stable condition, Nadeau said Monday night.
Police detained a suspect.
The shooting remains under investigation.
