Two pedestrians were hospitalized with serious injuries after a pickup truck carrying a snowplow struck them in Brewer on Friday night, police said.

The two people were not in a crosswalk when they were struck on North Main Street near the intersection with Holyoke Street, according to Jason Moffitt, Brewer’s public safety director. He did not identify the driver or the pedestrians, citing an ongoing police investigation.

Both pedestrians were both taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with serious injuries, Moffitt said. They were still in the hospital as of Saturday evening.
