The Maine Whoopie Pie Festival, an annual celebration of the official state treat, is moving to the Piscataquis Valley Fairground this year.

Through its first 15 years, the event had been held in downtown Dover-Foxcroft. It was relocated this year because of construction in the downtown, including the replacement of a water main, organizers said.

The 2025 festival will be held on June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Piscataquis Valley Fairground is located at 77 Fairview Ave. in Dover-Foxcroft.

The festival typically draws about 7,000 people and is the largest single-day event in Piscataquis County, according to organizers.
