Mild temperatures stick around for Wednesday, and it will be nice and sunny. Highs will reach the 40s for the afternoon.

Snow Thursday

Our next winter weather chance arrives early Thursday morning. Snow will fall steadily, even heavily during the morning commute timeframe leading to slick travel.

Snow will change to rain from south to north through the late morning and early afternoon, with all precipitation ending by the late afternoon.

For central Maine and into the mountains, 1-3 inches are expected, with the lowest amounts of an inch or two along the coast.

With temps reaching 40 or so Thursday afternoon, road conditions will see big improvements.

Sunshine returns Friday, and highs will be around 40.

Weekend forecast

Our next round of snow moves in Saturday morning. It looks very similar in terms of timing, amounts and precipitation types when compared with Thursday’s snow, which will gradually change to rain through the day.

Saturday will be fairly mild after snow wraps up, but cold air returns Sunday. Highs will only be in the 20s.
