Police were investigating a shooting in the Androscoggin County town of Sabattus on Wednesday evening.
The shooting occurred at the intersection of Middle Road and King Road on the Sabattus-Lisbon town line, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release. Middle Road is also known as Route 9.
A section of that road was closed to traffic as of 6:45 p.m., Moss said.
Police are asking people to avoid the area, but Moss said there is no danger to the public.
No additional information was immediately available.
