As an unenrolled voter, I feel free to vote for whoever I think best represents my interests. Rep. Jared Golden regularly makes me proud to vote for him and lend my support to his campaigns any way that I can.

Most recently, he voted to support the SAVE Act, which would mandate that people who vote in America prove their citizenship prior to voting. I think this is a necessary protection for our democracy, which I value above all else.

I have a wife and two daughters. I am happy that the language in the bill mandates that states adopt policies to recognize name changes. Instead of people on the political left trying to protect my girls from this bill, I think they should be trying to protect our democracy from foreign influence by supporting the SAVE Act.
