I wish that Democrats would stop the scattershot approach to protesting actions by the Trump administration and instead choose one important issue to focus on. What seems most important to me is Trump’s assault on the legal system in quiet ways that may not be noticed in the face of so much news.

He is threatening judges, making it impossible for law firms that he doesn’t like to represent their clients in front of the justice department, and Elon Musk is giving huge amounts of campaign money to members of Congress who are supporting the impeachment of judges whose decisions the administration didn’t like.

Without the rule of law, none of us is safe in any area of our lives, and these moves are attacking it. If we don’t move strongly to support judges and law firms that stand up to this administration, we will be living without the rule of law, and that really will destroy our lives.
