L.L. Bean is voluntarily dismissing a recently filed lawsuit over trademark infringement involving its iconic canvas tote bag design.

The Freeport-based retailer was suing 4imprint Inc. for using what it called a “confusingly similar” tote bag.

L.L. Bean calls their bag the “Boat and Tote” while 4imprint was calling similar items the “Boat Tote” line.

In a court filing, L.L. Bean doesn’t say why the suit is being dismissed, but the “Boat Tote” line is no longer for sale on 4imprint’s website.
