A Hermon man was arrested Friday and charged with possession of sexually explicit material.

Aaron Pinette, 42, was arrested at his home at approximately 9 a.m. and transported to the Penobscot County Jail, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said.

Pinette’s spouse is a teacher in the Hermon school system, according to a letter obtained by WABI.

Hermon school Superintendent Barbara Sargent allegedly said in the letter to parents that Pinette had not volunteered at the school in two years, and that all who are hired to work in the district undergo criminal background checks, according to WABI.
