Two trails up Katahdin have been closed because of an “active search.”
Baxter State Park announced the closure of the Abol and Hunt trails just before 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Both trails are closed until further notice.
The Maine Warden Service is assisting park rangers with the search, Mark Latti, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, said in an email to the Bangor Daily News.
No additional information was immediately available.
