McCarty Road in Glenburn is closed indefinitely Monday afternoon while police investigate an alleged shooting.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the McCarty Road in Glenburn at around 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a “disorderly” situation, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
The closure, near Broadway, will last for an unknown amount of time, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said.
The road connects Ohio Street and Broadway.
According to officials, a person was found with a gunshot wound, while another person with minor injuries was also found at the scene.
The person who allegedly was involved in the shooting fled the scene, officials said Monday evening.
A search is underway for a person involved in the shooting. Their name has not been released.
Drivers are asked to use caution on Route 15 near McCarty Road in Glenburn, as law enforcement officials remain in the area.
