A serious crash shut down Route 1 in Hancock on Wednesday.
The crash happened between Route 182, also known as Franklin Road, and Old Route 1, according to the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department.
That meant the only way to get to Ellsworth from Sullivan was to take Route 200, also known as Bert Gray Road, to Route 182.
For people heading Down East, they needed to take Route 182 to Route 200 to get back onto Route 1.
The road reopened before 10 a.m.
