The original Alcatraz Penitentiary in San Francisco Bay housed thousands of criminals all of whom were convicted of their crimes with due process in a court of law. Compare that with the approximate 75 percent of detainees arrested by ICE who have not been convicted of any serious crimes yet may be sent to the currently proposed Alcatraz gulag in Florida.
