Two paddlers who became stranded near Allagash Falls in Aroostook County were rescued by Maine Forest Rangers on Wednesday.

Maine Forest Rangers rescue two people who had become stranded on Allagash Falls in Aroostook County on Wednesday.

The paddlers were found huddled on a rock at the head of the falls, photos from the Maine Forest Rangers Facebook show. The two people are not being identified at this time.

The paddlers were lifted off the rock by a short-haul system that brought them aboard a rescue helicopter.

It is not clear how the paddlers became stranded on the rock, and a boat could not be seen in the photos provided by rangers.  

No injuries were immediately reported.
