Dover-Foxcroft police on Friday night extended a shelter-in-place order some residents during a search for a person that started that afternoon.

In a Facebook post at just after 6 p.m., police said they are seeking a person who is considered armed and dangerous.

In an update at about 8:30 p.m., the department said police are still searching the area and urged people to avoid the area of Pine Street, West Main Street, and the ATV trail.

“This remains a fluid incident and we are asking all residents to remain vigilant and to call 911 if you see or hear anything suspicious,” the department said.
