The driver of an SUV fled the scene of a crash after striking a school bus in Naples on Tuesday.

The Lake Region school bus had been carrying two students to a recreational event when it was struck by a GMC Yukon at around 12:14 p.m. near 106 Casco Road, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The GMC appeared to have been northbound when it crossed the center line and struck the southbound school bus, before leaving the scene, officials said. The vehicle and driver were quickly located in a local driveway.
