A badly injured person was found lying in the road in Scarborough late Saturday night, police said.
A driver came upon the person on Ginn Road, off Payne Road, around 11:20 p.m. No other people or vehicles were in the area.
The person was taken by ambulance to a hospital with what police described as “significant trauma,” according to a press release.
Scarborough police are investigating the incident with help from South Portland police and Maine State Police.
