I was pleased to see others writing to the Bangor Daily News about traffic noise issues and how they have gone unaddressed. I live in a nominally residential area with street signs that clearly state “No Thru Trucks,” which should indicate the expected traffic in this area. Yet, there are dozens of obviously ordinance-breaking vehicles that blast through the neighborhood everyday.
I contacted city code enforcement and they stated that they had almost no way of enforcing the noise ordinance.
I have lived in Bangor full time for roughly two years at this point, and the level of noise from the motorcycles and trucks makes me disappointed in this city to say the least.
