Two cats died and the occupants of two apartment units were displaced in a Sunday fire in Bucksport.

The fire at the 52 U.S. Route 1 residence broke out around 11 a.m., according to the state fire marshal’s office. The fire started in the bathroom of the first floor unit and was sparked by a dryer.

Both the units in the residence were determined to be unfit to live in. No residents or firefighters were injured in the blaze.

The American Red Cross provided assistance to the displaced tenants.
