Sen. Susan Collins voted to confirm Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and now she may regret that vote. But she must have had the information about his history of anti-vaccination views, his spreading of misinformation about COVID, his promotion of raw milk, his belief in a conspiracy theory that Lyme disease was created as a bio-weapon, plus so much more. This was all known before she voted to confirm him.

Now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has lost many of its top talented scientists (top one fired and others resigned). More than 1,000 current and former HHS workers demand that Kennedy resign.

I encourage Collins to read The New Republic’s Sept. 3 article, “Trump’s Cabinet Picks Have Made Republican Senators Look Like Chumps.” “Gullible” Collins is featured in this article.

What’s that expression? Fool me once (Brett Kavanaugh), shame on you. Fool me twice (Kennedy), shame on me. But really, I think Collins should have known better with Kavanaugh as well.

So in conclusion, now that the health of the nation is at grave risk, I believe Collins must apologize to her constituents and do all you can to get Kennedy out and replace him with a responsible, pro-science professional.
