I have been involved in Maine elections. I have canvassed for candidates and coordinated debates and community conversations with candidates. I have been a poll watcher for elections and have gathered signatures for petitions.

In these roles, I have had access to voter registration lists. What I noticed about the lists is how out of date the Maine voter rolls are. Some addresses still list two or more previous owners. Some addresses don’t exist. Contact information is often out of date. People that have moved out of state may still be listed as Maine citizens as the mechanism is slow for removing them from rolls.

I support Voter ID for ME as the first step in securing the elections in Maine.

Vote “yes” on Question 1 this November.
